Creation Date Fixer is a macOS application developed by Zack Thar. This policy explains how the app handles information when it reads capture dates and updates file creation dates.
Local processing
The app processes the photos and videos you select on your Mac. It reads embedded capture metadata and file timestamps to show a preview, then updates the selected files’ creation dates when you ask it to. It does not upload your photos, videos, metadata or file paths to the developer or to a server. File contents and embedded metadata are not rewritten.
Information the app collects
The app does not require an account and does not send personal information, usage analytics or advertising identifiers to the developer. It contains no advertising, tracking or third-party analytics SDKs.
File permissions and locally stored information
The sandboxed app accesses media you explicitly select or drag into it. It saves security-scoped bookmarks, which are macOS permission records that let it access those files again for operations such as Undo after reopening.
Undo history is stored locally in the app’s Application Support directory. It includes file paths, previous creation and modification dates, file identity and size information, and permission bookmarks. This information is used to restore previous dates, regain file access and check that a file has not been replaced or edited.
Undo history remains on your Mac until the app’s stored data is removed. Clearing the imported-file list does not delete undo history. Removing local undo data removes the ability to undo those batches; it does not reverse changes already saved to your media files. Uninstalling the app may leave its local data behind. Contact the developer if you need help locating or removing it.
You control which files you import and when changes are applied. If you do not want the app to retain access to previously selected files, quit the app and remove its stored permission and undo data. Your files may also be managed by macOS, iCloud or backup services you choose; their handling is governed by their own settings and policies.
Support correspondence
If you email the developer, your email address and any information or attachments you choose to include are received through the email provider. That correspondence is used to respond to your request and troubleshoot the issue. Please avoid sending private media or unnecessary personal information. You may contact the developer to request deletion of support correspondence, subject to applicable record-keeping requirements.
Apple services
App Store purchases and any diagnostics you choose to share through Apple are handled under Apple’s services, settings and privacy policies. The app does not collect payment card information.
